Celebrating 18 Years as Northern Ireland’s Leading Contact Centre | Mango

This month, we’re celebrating an amazing Mango milestone as we officially mark 18 years in business!
What began in 2008 with just five people in a small office on Market Street, Bangor, has grown into a team of nearly 200 colleagues, supporting organisations across the UK, Ireland and beyond as Northern Ireland’s leading Contact Centre.
Over the past 18 years, we have moved offices, expanded our services, embraced new technology and built lasting partnerships with incredible clients. But while a lot has changed, one thing has remained at our heart, our belief that a great business is built by great people.

From Small Beginnings…
Mango was founded by Stuart and Susan Lally during one of the most challenging economic periods. Starting a business during the 2008 recession wasn’t easy, but with determination and a people first approach, Mango steadily grew.

From our first ‘cozy’ office on Market Street, we then moved to Balloo, a great catchment area for our team. Starting in one building, we soon expanded to the premises next door enabling our purpose built contact centre to take full form.

Today, we offer an extensive range of telemarketing services including fundraising, sales, customer service, response handling, warehousing, fulfilment, live chat, social media management and digital support, operating 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Making Every Conversation Count
Founded with a clear purpose, our mission has always been to deliver ethical, quality driven conversations that help organisations build meaningful relationships with their callers. We have had the privilege of working alongside some of the UK and Ireland and the world’s most respected organisations, helping them achieve their goals in partnership with Mango. Together with our charity partners, we’ve helped raise more than £20 million for charitable causes.
As our business has evolved, so too has our client portfolio. Today we support organisations across housing associations, retail, financial services, public sector, utilities and commercial industries, delivering customer experiences that are built on trust, empathy and expertise.

The People Who Make It Happen
Our team are the beating heart of Mango and have been instrumental in every milestone we have achieved. That’s why we have always been committed to creating a workplace where people feel encouraged, recognised and are supported to grow and build a rewarding career with us.
Many members of our Contact Centre Management team began their own Mango journey as agents, demonstrating that career progression isn’t just something we talk about, it’s something we actively support.
Over half of our workforce have been with Mango for more than five years, with a host of our team also celebrating 10, 15 and even longer milestones with us!

Evolving with a Changing World
The contact centre industry has changed dramatically since 2008. Customer expectations have evolved, technology has advanced at an incredible pace, and businesses are increasingly looking for partners who can combine innovation with genuine human connection.
At Mango, we have evolved alongside that landscape. From expanding our service offering and investing in new technologies, we’ve continually adapted to meet the needs of our clients and their customers.
As we continue to innovate, our approach remains ‘People First’ while we introduce AI tools to complement our existing ethos of human-led quality and continuous improvement. This technology will help spot patterns, identify opportunities and add another layer of assurance for quality and compliance.
We are also committed to evolving responsibly. Through our ISO 14001 certified Environmental Management System, we have embedded sustainability into our operations, from adopting a digital first approach and comprehensive recycling programmes to investing in solar photovoltaic panels at our HQ. These initiatives form part of our wider commitment to achieving Carbon Neutrality by 2040, ensuring we continue to reduce our environmental impact while supporting the sustainability goals of our clients.
All Grown Up… But We Never Forget How to Have Fun
Creating a positive, vibrant workplace has always been part of our culture, that’s why employee engagement is woven into everyday at Mango. From wellbeing initiatives and flexible working to regular recognition programmes, we make sure our colleagues know they are valued.
Over the years, these memories have helped strengthen friendships, build teamwork and make Mango the welcoming and warm workplace we’re proud to be. Eighteen years on, our contact centre may look very different from where it began, but our commitment remains unchanged: combining innovation with exceptional people to deliver outstanding service, build genuine relationships and make every conversation count.
